Big work based on Cambodia starts finally. いよいよカンボジアを拠点にした大きな仕事が始まる．
まず日本で少し金を作る、３００万円から５００万円、それで香港へ行ってファンドをカンボジアへ持ってくる。それが済んだら、もうお金の心配は無くなると言う。ロンドンへは遊びがてら三人のイギリス行き希望者と一緒に行くことになった。今日、招聘状が来れば１９日にはプノンペンに到着。日本のやんごとなき人々との会談も待っている。

The remainder of KFC was not able to be taken because of the heavy rain on きのうの夜は大雨でKFCの残りを持って行けなかった。
KFCで降り込められて、３時間、その後車が無く、リクシャーで家まで帰った。今朝も警察署の前の道は冠水していた。

It settled down the stroll the night and this morning yesterday like having きのうの夜と今朝の散歩は、三日前の惨劇も忘れたように落ち着いていた。
きのうの夜の散歩で、暗い学校のグラウンドに入って、トミーとしゃべっていたら、突然そばにいた背の高い男が、「この犬は日本から連れてきたんですか？」と話しかけてきた。毎日一万枚のTシャツを作っているという。一枚１０セントだという。本当か？でも一万枚だから、毎日一千ドルの儲け？話をしている間ゆっくり周りを見ながら、おとなしくしていた二匹。今朝も早めに散歩は切り上げたけど怒らなかった。

Health. 快食快便。
トミーは早朝、少し離れた学校のグラウンドで固い良いウンコをしたらしい。僕の半分残した「ドイ」も食べたし、「ハルワ」も食べた。「ジャラと肉つき骨」をほおばっているところで、ジャハンギールのビルを出てひげを剃り、頭も少しだけカットしてリクシャーに乗って事務所へ来た。多分とミーは快食快便、今のところ居候生活は快適。

Tommy et al. are sponger.トミーたちは居候。
２００７年６月５日、きのうは昼から「ミールプールのポラッシュ」の家から、追い出されるように、ＣＮＧキャブで市の保健所へ行き、狂犬病の予防注射を打ってから、「キルガオン、タルトラのジャハンギール・チョウドリー」の家へ今度はタクシーで直行。「トミーとベティーの部屋」を作ってくれるという。

朝は８時から「片足のラマザン」の電話で起こされ。「トミーが大変！」でもその事情がわからない。とりあえず大丈夫だといわれたが、捕まって殺されている可能性もあるな」と感じた。でも多分大丈夫だろうと楽観しながら「リクシャー」に乗った。まず朝飯を仕入れて「もちろんトミーたちの分も用意」、ヤスミンの家へ、飯を食わずにすぐトミーのいつも居るＣＮＧステーションに着く。それからはラマザンのコメント、ミザムのコメント、実際に助けてくれた野菜卸売り市場のお兄ちゃんのコメント。一旦は捕まったが、みんなでこれは「日本人の犬だ」と主張して罠から外したら一目散に後ろへ逃げていって今は何処に言ったか判らない。でも「ベティーはすぐそばにいた」でもその現場を見たのか、元の場所には戻ろうとしなかった。恐怖で神経が高ぶっているようだ。みんなの意見を総合すると、「捕まえられた時の体を挟む機械の痛みがひどくて、どっかで休んでいるのだろう」。そこで呼んでおいた学生の「イモン」と野菜果物市場の例の通りを裏に進んだ。「トミー、ウウオオオンン」と叫びながら。すぐあとに、茶店のオーナーの「マンナン」が「２，３分前にここでトミーを見た」というので、安心した。彼はトミーを見間違えるはずが無いのである。それほど良く知っているということである。以前トミーが３日ほど見えなくなったときにも「朝,
見かけたぞ」と言うので「本当にそれはトミーか？」と聞いたことがある。そのときは彼がトミーのことをそれほど気に掛けていてくれているとは知らなかった。その後すぐミザムの提案で「ムルギ・バザール鶏市場」に出動、「鶏市場で今の奥さん、ベティーの母親に横恋慕しているのを発見。」そんな訳でトミーは死んでいないなと、直感したが、何処に隠れているのかわからないので、少し時間がかかるかもしれないと、捜索を開始。果物市場を通ろうとすると８歳ぐらいの赤いＴシャツの子供が「そこに居るよ、休んでいるのさ」という。本当か？と思いながら２０ｍぐらい先の果物市場のマンゴウの山の手前の机の下に長々と寝ているトミーを発見。呼ぶとすぐについて来たが、途中までは来たが、どうしてもＣＮＧステーションの方へは行こうとはしなかった。よっぽど怖かったのだろう。 そこで「イモン」にラマザンのところへ置いてきたトミーたちの散歩用の紐を,取ってくるように頼んだ。

とにかく僕のトミーは、バングラデッシュの暑さ対策にはお気に入りの「チャイワラ」、喫茶店の下に穴を掘ってもぐり込んで、夕方になるまで出てこない。きのうは夜、九時ごろ少しだけ雨が降ったけど、そんなモンでは、涼しくなるはずも無く。きょうも４０度かな？
